What are Automatic Watches
Automatic Watches are mechanical watch that has the capabilities to “automatically” wind itself when worn. A watch that winds itself by your wrist’s motion? It may sound a little confusing. Here is how the thing works:
As your wrist and body moves, a rotor that is attached to a winding mechanism, rotates freely according to its’ staff in the center. Even your wrist’s slightest movement rotates the rotor back and fort. Thus, it winds the mainspring. This mainspring is a flat coiled spring that provides power to automatic watches.
Other terms that refer to automatic watches are “perpetual watches” and “self-winding watches”.
